What is an escape room?

At the core an escape room is a game where a group (of family, friends & coworkers, etc) must decipher clues in order to get out of the room in an allotted time frame. 

Here are 5 things our escape rooms are not:

1 - It’s not Scary

At Hour To Exit our games are made with families in mind so no our games are not scary. However, there are other escape room companies who specialize in scary escape rooms. If you’re looking for something scary let us know, we’ve played over 100 games and can point you in the right direction.

2 - It’s not just for smart people

Escape room games do not require you to have a high IQ score. It does require you to think outside of the box, explore the space and look at things differently. If you’re ever stuck ask a teammate or get a clue (just make sure your teammates agree with getting a clue!)

3 - You don’t need a big group

Our minimum requirement for all of our games is just 2 players! If you want to have a group larger than 8 players send us a message or 914-355-4272.

4 - It’s not that fun

But it really is! Escape rooms are the only place where you can step truly into a different world. You could be the savior that helps closes Pandora’s Box forever, or become a detective and help Elude The Illusionist, or go to college and steal the key that’s hidden in your RA’s Dorm Room!  You choose the adventure you want to play.

5 - You’ll take my phone away.

We allow you to keep all of your personal belongings with you at all times. We do ask that you refrain from taking photos & videos, this way others can enjoy solving the mystery without any spoilers.
